 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH

 BY-LAW NUMBER 100-2001

 BEING A BY-LAW TO GRANT SPECIFIC AUTHORITY TO INDIVIDUALS ENGAGED TO PROVIDE WINTER MAINTENANCE SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH

 WHEREAS the Council of the  Corporation of the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh deems it expedient to grant authority to plow operators to call tow trucks to remove vehicles interfering with winter maintenance operations.

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh ENACTS as follows; 

1. That the individuals listed on Schedule “A” attached to this By-law, while engaged in the activity of winter maintenance on behalf of the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh shall be deemed to be By-Law Enforcement Officers and shall be granted authority under Section 170 (12-15) of the Highway Traffic Act, RSO 1990 to, upon discovery of any vehicle parked or standing in contravention of Section 170 (12) of the Highway Traffic Act, cause it to be moved or taken to and placed or stored in a suitable place and all costs and charges for removing, care and storage thereof, if any, are a lien upon the vehicle.
    

2. The authority granted under Clause (1) of this By-Law shall expire on the 1^st day of May, 2002.

    3.   That this by-law shall come into full force and effect upon its final passage.

    4.   That this by-law be cited as the “Plow Operators Specific Authority to Tow By-Law”.

READ a FIRST, SECOND and THIRD TIME and FINALLY PASSED this 3rd DAY OF DECEMBER, 2001.
